The middle of a very cold spell! Has been in the single digits at night the last couple of nights. There was a pretty white fluffy snow today!

The operation has been in time out so to speak. Shopped on line for supplies. Evan ordered some glass bottles. Kelsey took the dogs to Katherine and Julie to CUT a layer of mud off. Tried a couple of new maple syrup recipes. Checked buckets a few times...still frozen haha. Evan is working on getting "eyeballs" back on Wally...Kelsey and Brad share the blame for poking his "eye" out. Turns out lights are expensive!!! Who new? Bob enjoying that. 

Things in the woods are pretty crisp. Bob decided to visit the evaporator to see how frozen that had become. Piper and Lola were the only volunteers Bob solicited today.  

 After burning some kindling for about 10 min.... the thermometer began to register! The purpose of the slow warming fire tonight was to keep the ice from further thickening and avoiding damaging the pan. (Yes Adam...Bob was very careful!) The front pan had about 3 inches of ice on top!!

Hillbilly foot warmer.........patent pending....What you do when you spend more time in the woods than you anticipated!
