This is the start of our guest Blog Posting. We have talked about it for a few Boils, but the person doing it tonight was not a volunteer. The normal ( in many ways) author went to Cleveland to catch Cody from a Plane bound from Kansas.
Brad started fire at 1:00 today by himself for some peace and quiet, ?? We are sure the large speaker might have been jamming to help the Trees flow. He was joined by our resident FFA member Maddie who "misread" Bob's text and came at 3:30 to be ready to boil at 4. Bob was sure the text was for 5:30. Anyway, extra time to help fire and take syrup off to help with the hours to a state degree.
Megan, Collin, Kelsey, Bryan, Adam and Katie came to start the gathering. Ted joined the crew at the end of the South path, perfect timing to catch the group. Bob stayed back to tend to the fire and start campfire that looked like it needed help. The crew gathered 270 gal tonight.
Bob was sure there would be complaining about shingles burning. This was all hardwood scraps from milling lumber.
Another supper on the campfire, bologna from Bellevue Meats is fantastic compared to others!!!! Kelsey tried her hand at warming baked beans on the fire in a can. She discovered why all the bean cans have the labels burned off when she arrives. They warm better when placed in the fire.
look for updates....falling asleep
